Grumpy Bunny Sweets

About

Small batch. Big personality.

Hi, I'm Amanda!

Some of my favorite memories are of baking in my grandma's kitchen with my cousins, making a huge mess and having the best time. I also have fantastic memories of my aunt filling her dining room with various holiday cookies. Looking back, those memories are where my love for sharing sweet treats with others really began.

I grew up right here in Milford, and after graduating college I came back home. These days I work full time as a software developer, but I've always loved having a creative hobby on the side. In 2018, I decorated my very first cookies to share with my coworkers, and just like my aunt's holiday spread, sharing them was the best part.

From there, I kept practicing, slowly and steadily, batch after batch, until those cookies for coworkers turned into a real opportunity to share my creations with a larger audience. In 2021, Grumpy Bunny Sweets became official!

Today, every set is still baked in small batches with quality ingredients and decorated by hand with royal icing, designed around your celebration, whether it's a first birthday, a team banquet, a baby shower, or a holiday gift box.

And the name? That's all thanks to Onyx.

The name

Meet Onyx, the original grumpy bunny

Onyx is my pet rabbit, and I always called her my grumpy bunny because she always seemed mad, especially when I didn't hand over a treat every single time she asked. When it came time to name my cookie business, there was only one choice.

The cookies, thankfully, are a lot happier.

Cottage bakery

What's a cottage bakery?

Ohio's cottage food rules let home bakers make certain shelf-stable treats, like decorated sugar cookies, in their own kitchens and sell them directly to customers. Every Grumpy Bunny order is baked and decorated by me in my home kitchen in Milford, in small batches.
